Economic Development & Employer Services Committee (EDES)

Composition: Economic Development and Employer Services Committee of the WIB. The chair of this committee shall be a member representing private business or a local economic development agency. The committee is comprised of representatives of the , including those representing mandated partners. The chair is selected from the Committee membership and appointed by the WIB Chair. The Vice-Chair is selected by the EDES Committee.

The Economic Development and Employer Services Committee shall develop strategies to train workforce participants for jobs that will provide long-term career paths; coordinate labor market studies; provide the WIB with information on emerging market trends; provide guidance regarding Individual Training Accounts (ITAs), the Eligible Training Provider List, and employer services in the One-Stop Career Centers; recommend changes to the workforce investment system in order to improve employer satisfaction with employee recruitment, retention, productivity, and profitability, and other outcomes; and develop strategies to enhance the responsiveness of the workforce investment system to the needs of local businesses.
