Skill Requirements

Intellectual - basic

  • Follow strict safety guidelines

Intellectual - specialized

  • Knowledge of blueprints and NC programming.
  • Mechanical aptitude

Social

  • Able to communicate with other workers

Physical

  • Stamina. Operators are on their feet much of the day and perform moderately heavy lifting.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Able to work overtime during peak manufacturing periods.

Skill Maintenance Requirement

  • Moderate.
    
 

Experience Prerequisites

It is possible to start out as a Helper with no previous experience.

    
 

Education/Training Required

A high school diploma, shop math, geometry, and the ability to read blueprints are all required. Furthermore, vocational training including math, physics, or machine shop training is desirable, and a Certificate is desirable.
