Skill Requirements

Intellectual - basic

  • Attention to detail.
  • Good manual dexterity.
  • Initiative, to work independently most of the time.
  • Able to work from schematic diagrams, sketches, and verbal instructions.

Intellectual - specialized

  • Knowledge of basic digital and analog theory.
  • Knowledge of electronics testing equipment.

Social

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work as part of a team.

Physical

  • Good vision and color perception.

Skill Maintenance Requirement

Moderate. Due to the constantly changing technologies, Electronics Technicians often take additional courses and study technical manuals to stay current.

    
 

Experience Prerequisites

Experience using electronic test and measurement equipment is required.

    
 

Education/Training Required

A Certificate or AS Degree in electronics is required.
