Skill Maintenance Requirement

  • High. This technology is changing rapidly and it is essential to stay current to be effective. It is very common to use new tools on each new programming project. Remaining current can be accomplished by reading industry publications and books as they are published, attending conferences, and taking short courses.
    
 

Experience Prerequisites

It is necessary to be able to demonstrate your ability to utilize the Internet effectively, and develop and maintain a website. This experience can be gained on ones own, or through formal training programs, internships and jobs.

    
 

Education/Training Required

Competence in HTML, an understanding of browser compatibility issues, knowledge of CGI scripting languages (such as Java, Perl, C and Unix shell scripts), and an understanding of issues such as download time/bandwidth is required.
